Walks
The Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is the largest Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty in England and
Wales with an area of some 770 square
miles.
Walks over the gentle rolling wolds require
little effort yet produce enormous rewards
with views to the Malvern Hills, Severn
Valley and the Forest of Dean. Attractive
hidden villages built with honey coloured
cotswold stone, thatched roofs and floral
gardens with intriguing names like The
Swells, The Slaughters and Paradise,
frequently appear on picture calendars.

Our walks will take you to some of these places off the beaten
track, alongside gentle meandering rivers such as the Coln and
Windrush.
Walking along ancient tracks, some Roman and some salt roads
we pass ancient burial mounds (long barrows), evidence of old
farming techniques, the remains of the wool and silk industry
that was once so important to this area. There are many fine
manor houses with extensive parkland, churches and Roman
remains. The rolling landscape and quiet wooded valleys are a
haven for the wildlife.
We have an extensive range of walking holidays in the
Cotswolds.
For those who want no more than a couple of days enjoying a
short break we can offer a selection of about 20 walks in
various locations throughout this area.

Those who require a short break with a difference can try the
Cotswold Gardens 2 day break which is spent making short walks visiting 2 or 3 of the attractive gardens to be found in the Cotswolds, or can try the Steam Railway break on the
Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway. For the more adventurous, this can be extended to a 7 day holiday visiting at least six gardens as well as enjoying some very attractive Cotswold walking.

We have recently developed a circular route that visits many of the popular and attractive villages and expect to have a second route available soon. In addition to these walks we are able to arrange self-guided holidays on the Cotswold Way. This is a walk of 97 miles along the western side of the Cotswold Hills. The walk begins Chipping Campden and ends at Bath Abbey.

The Monarch's Way in the Cotswolds follows a route that visits
many of the popular villages as well as some of the lesser
known locations. It is a very attractive walk in its own right
starting from Mickleton in the north and walking through the
heart of the Cotswolds to Tetbury
