The Worcestershire Way is a 47mile route which follows the County's western
boundary from Kingsford Country Park in the north to the southern end of the
Malvern Hills near the Gloucestershire border.
Our version of this attractive walk starts at Kinver and continues along the
sandstone ridge known as Kinver Edge. The path soon crosses the River Severn
before passing through Bewdley. Continuing through rural Worcestershire we
pass through picturesque villages and varied, undulating countryside to arrive at
Malvern. Our journey continues to the southern most point of the Malvern Hills
before swinging west to complete the journey at the attractive market town of
Ledbury.
The total distance of this walk is just over 60miles and the itinerary that we have
prepared covers the route in six days.
Guided and self-guided versions of this walk are available.

Golden Valley, Malvern
Macmillan Way West
Introduced in 2001, this 102 mile walk was created by the Macmillan Way
association and forms an extension to the original Macmillan Way.
The route starts at Castle Cary, the town where Douglas Macmillan, the founder
of Macmillan Cancer Relief, spent his early years. Both walks have been
developed as a tribute to Douglas Macmillan.
From Castle Cary the walk proceeds in a westerly direction initially following the
River Cary before crossing the Somerset Levels to Bridgewater. The route takes
us along the Quantocks to Dunster. Just beyond Dunster there is a link to the
South West Coast Path at Minehead. The main route continues over Exmoor
climbing to Dunkery Beacon on route to the finish at Barnstaple.
We suggest that you allow 10 days for this moderate walk.
