Walking Weekends with Derek and Sandra Starkey are organised from The Farncombe Estate Centre, Broadway. This centre was launched in 2003 offering Weekend and Day courses in a wide variety of subjects. Just outside the lovely village of Broadway in the Cotswolds, the Centre provides an idyllic location at which to develop new knowledge and skills.

Guides to Grading:- Leisurely:- Are walks for reasonably fit people with at least a little country walking experience . May include unsurfaced rural paths and some short climbs. Walking boots and warm waterproof clothing are required. Moderate:- Walks for people with country walking experience and a good level of fitness. May include some steep paths and open country. Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing is essential.

Spring Walks March 9th-11th 2007.

Two leisurely walks - choose to take part in just one day or a full weekend including the evening events

1. Saturday:- The Daffodils at Batsford.

A gentle 6 mile walk around Moreton in Marsh to Sezincote, Bourton on the Hill and on to Batsford Arboretum for lunch (Applestore Tearoom). After lunch we take a tour around the daffodils and the arboretum (optional).

2. Sunday:- Four Cotswold Villages and One Abbey.

A gentle and low level 6 mile walk between Buckland, Laverton,Stanton, Stanway, Hailes Abbey and Hailes Fruit Farm. There are a few stiles but very little climbing.

Summer Walking Weekend 8th - 10th June 2007.

Welcome to our Gardens.

A new walking weekend for garden lovers that enjoy walking! Each day includes gentle walking and visits a selection of local gardens open for the summer.

Join Derek and Sandra Starkey on one or both of the days. Routes will include Ashton under Hill on Saturday and Winchcombe on Sunday. Garden opening hours to be confirmed later.

Transport and lunches provided. Both days are easy walks with some stiles, and about 4 to 5 miles per day.
